smooooooooosheesmoooseeesmooshy
That's what I want to say every time I see, touch or sense this delicious yarn anywhere near me....
After many eons of craving, adoring and yearning I've added 3 skeins of this delicious yarn to my collection - but with a plan, mind you!
The fabulous Ann and Helen of Knitting Inspirations sorted me out with the right number of skeins to knit up Gigi and Ann even sent them all the way up to the Pilbara for me! Yay!
I've got a few too many other bits and bobs on the go at the moment to start my love affair with Gigi just yet.. but soon my pretty... sooon....

~ Quote of the Day ~
Having a bit of a stressful time at work again the last couple of days, plus feeling rather irritable in general and have decided I shall no longer be "too nice" and allow myself to be taken for granted or tolerate incompetence and laziness at work! Oh no, I shall NOT!
But it's also important to balance this, so in my thinking about these issues I've tried to stay lookling inward - at what I can do differently and the opportunity for growth in myelf, rather than a "stinky so-and-so" session focusing on other people's faults. I found this quote particularly relevant today :)

Peace comes from within.
Do not seek it without.
BUDDHA

Simple, straight forward, and true - I like it :)

Quote of the Day
Seeing as our laptop has caught some sort of computery STD and is SUPER slow and sluggish until we do an overhaul... I am once again stunted in the picture department! Which is such a shame seeing as the Topi I've been knitting on is so close to being finished - only the brim stiffener to add and ends to weave in. Plus I've just about finished the second sleeve of Cobbleboulder which is so so exciting!! I've got a new project on the needles as of this morning - two Christmas stockings I committed to knitting up for a friend from my old job - but more on that later.
For now I've decided to share some of my favourite quotes here and there in the absence of photos - so at least my little blog here doesn't get too neglected :)
So! The quote for today... from one of my favourite people - Dr Seuss. Fitting for the present as a friend of mine recently had to say goodbye to her canine companion, which always brings about some meditation on loss and departure.

Don't cry because it's over,
Smile because it happened.
Smile because it happened.
Applicable to so many elements of life - and a perspective that is very hard to realise and hold on to at the time it is most relevant, but I find it a very poignant and powerful little saying - I hope you enjoy it too :)

Long forgotten secret!
I realised recently as I trolled through my collection of photos, that I had perhaps never really posted as much as I could about the completed Alpaca Silk Secret of oh-so-many months ago!! So here are two extra shots of the silky alpacary goodness :)
You'll remember, perhaps, that lovely Lushorama Lisa of the Kwinana Fibre Arts Group gifted to each of the K-Fag members a delicious skein of Blue Sky Alpaca, Alpaca Silk - yum! We were each to secertly knit a project out of only that one skein, and re-convene to show off our fabulous creations!
I had decided to knit up a little something I could have close to my skin, given the luscious nature of the skein in question!
So the feather and fan Luxe Neckwarmer it was!
It's fabulously snug and warm without any inherent bulk and suffocation - gotta love alpaca...
I was worried at first that the feather and fan lace stitch pattern was lost amongst the deep colour and slight halo - but I'm chuffed with it :)

Shiny and new!
I am thrilled to introduce to you our new friend... Max!
Max's predecessor, a Mazda Bravo named Gus, has been in need of retirement for a while, so we finally decided it was time to invest in a new companion to allow Gus some time off!
It is such a joy to be cruising around in an almost new ( less than 3 years - woot woot!) car all shiny, new and fantastic! Just the ticket for our lifestyle - we don't do that much driving, and if we do it's generally longer distances and amongst the bushy areas, so we'll always favour a 4x4 ute over anything else. And Max delivers - yeeehar!! :D

On my last R&R in town I went out in the early morning to find a startling change in Max however.. he was lookin all frosty!!
How bizarre to have ICE, actual ice, on the cars in the morning here in our climate?! So strange, but a bit fun too! All the more need for the knit wear - a Max Cosy required??
